Gatsby Revealed

The Great Gatsby is a novel that will forever be considered a classic. The novel expresses a elemant that money can buy happiness as well as love in a womens eyes. It will stand the test of time because this elemant of money able to buy everything. As time shows money has the ablitly to purchase what some people consider happiness untill love enters their lives. Once we have felt the warming sensation of love, we as a human race never want it to leave or abanden us. We also love the sensation of being able to purchase everything we desire however one thing we can never buy is true love of which a person can only feel in the arms of someone they love; wishing they could spend the rest of their lives with. Julius Ceasar was a man who came to great fame through success however when he would go through the crowds he had a servant with the job of telling him he was only a man. Julius Ceasar was smart knowing that all the wealth and fame could easily get him. Animal Farm is also another  story that could be compared to The Great Gatsby. In Animal Farm the pig had great power unlike the other stories this one truely ended in the death of an animal who let everything get to him. They all express an elemant of a classic novel that allows a specific character to get more power or wealth, ending it in a tragedy from the character not watching what they are doing with the responsibility they hold.

Letter to Sarah Ballou

      My Dearest Sullivan,
I hope to see you soon after the war won with you safely home again. William and Edgar have been more and more eager to see you as well as being embraced in your arms. Our daily prayer is of your safe return and we know God looks over you in your daily agendas. I whisper your name over and over again wanting to taste your soft lips pressed against mine own. Sullivan you forever forgive for everything you have done wrong to me and wish it to ease from your heart, mind ,and soul. Do no fear the almighty hand of god for he will leave you to come home to your sons and I. I shall wait here always waiting for your return. The day you left to fight was one of the worst days in my life because my heart belongs to you and i need you to return it when you come marching home to me. My beloved Sullivan come home to me in one peice. Edger, William, and I are not a true family without being at your side. Our hearts are saddened, fore you are not here to be with us in our labors. The government is important but the love we share is the absolute most important thing in my life. This time has been a test of our love and it will never break. Our chains of love are forever and if you do meet death then I will meet you there. I have written these lines to bring your spirits up to give you the momentum you need to return to us.

Cleveland's Mill of Steel

Molten steel glowing bright orange. The sound of machinery so loud you can go deaf. Heat so hot you would burn to a crisp in an instant! Arcelor Mittal’s Cleveland steel plant is where you can experience the molten steel, loud machinery, the heat, and much more. The excitement and fun of walking through the mill will bring a new perspective on Cleveland.

Arcelor Mittal steel wasn’t always Arcelor Mittal. The company started in 1870 with the original name of Otis Iron and Steel Co’s. As quickly as it started it failed because of the corporate would not allow it to be overcome by the unions that were created at the time. Next in line was LTV Steel, they would invest 1.1 billion dollars to bring the steeling areas back to life but after two years the company went bankrupt. Third ISG would buy out the company as it was diving into the ground. Unfortunately the person who would buy LTV steel had no clue what he was doing in the Steel business. They would soon be bought out by the company that now controls roughly seventy-five percent of the worlds steel production, Arcelor Mittal.  Think about it. Cleveland’s mill was the first to cause the Cuyahoga River to catch on fire. Not everything in the past of the mill is boring.

            As the present company of Arcelor Mittal, many things have changed for the best. “We never have to worry about the river catching on fire because the problem of the water pollution is fixed now; it actually goes back into the river cleaner then when it was pumped out.” As stated form Mr. Cordell Petz the safety manager of the US Steel making plants. Mr. Mittal bought the Cleveland plant in April 2005 having the worlds largest steel company the world has ever seem, involving 300,000 employees in over sixty countries around the world. Going to the mill is breathtaking covering 950 acres 7,000,000 square feet of buildings. It Ranks as the only truly global steelmaker. (Email2)

The Production is the truly amazing and awing part of the steel mill. Putting raw materials into a giant blast furnace until they turn into molten steel resembling a bright neon orange color. The heat from the molten steel can be felt from all the way across a fifty  foot room.  From there more scrap, lime, flux, and oxygen are combined into a basic oxygen furnace until the steel is pure and the quality the buyer is wanting. The steel is then hauled to the slab castors by what the workers call lobsters, giant red trucks, which are used to haul steel from one part of the plant to the other. From the slab castors, the giant molten candy bar resembling blocks of steel are then put on a train to be carried a mile to the other aide of the mill to be but into giant rollers. The rolls are roughly a quarter inch thick but a mile long, weighing as much as twenty-five tons.

The future of the plant is looking more and more optimistic as Mr. Mittal finds new consumers to buy the steel that the Cleveland plant produces. The plant sees not future in shutting down like previous companies. The most recent deals have involved making the steel plating for the bullet proof vehicles for the armed forces.

The excitement will bring joy to the “so called” depressing city of Cleveland Ohio. The mill is one of my favorite places to go. The speechless experience that you will have at the Arcelor Steel Mill will change your view about Cleveland being one of the most depressing cities in the United States.

Stories of the Natives

         Pocahontas is a movie that clearly illistrates how europeans would land in the Americas and take the land from the Native Americans. Most Native American literature describes how the settlers would often take the land of Native Americans because they seeked gold and other precious things. The founding of Jamestown, Virginia was a pleace where the settlers thought that the Indians were savages and uncivilized. However the Native Americans were not, infact they were the complete opposite of uncivilized. They knew more about the land and were able to survive without the tools that the Europeans had at the time of their arrival. During these times they learn that they are good people but usually by this point it is too late because of what the settlers did to them suck as killling and relocating. Being able to illastrate the past can be helpful to our understand of their lives.

Loins should tell their own stories!

        "Until the lion has his or her own story teller , the hunter will always have the best part of the story." This sentence entells the loin as it hunts. Hoever the lion is the only one that has the true thrill of the hunt. Therefore having the best part of any story is the main character and cannot be expressed inless they tell it themselves. The lions part of the story can never be fully expressed. They themselves should be the ones that tell it but they cant because they cannot speak. The lion has the best part of the story because they are the ones who actually have the fellings of the whole hunt and noone else can have those feelings. lions do have the best part of the story when thay are on the hunt.
